I WANT THIS BOW I WANT THIS BOW I WANT THIS BOW :eager::eager:
Unfortunately.. I can't have it... But I did get to play with it on Thursday. Rob was teaching me how to use it and i got to shoot it, and I was so proud of myself, I hit the target, twice!! I also hit the shed a couple of times but enough about that..
I borrowed the bow for a different shoot, but I don't know whether or not I'll definately have it when that one comes around, so to make up for it, I cobbled this costume together. my self timer remote and the spare battery conspired against me though, one by breaking the other by hiding itself, so i didn't get as many pictures with the different weapons. I got the bow and a couple of sword ones. and then the trap was sprung.

Also. Those shoes yes, they are attached to my feet via string. I am in the process of making them for the elf shoot. I just havent attached them to the base (which are a pair of knackered old work shoes. :P)
Anyway. Enjoy!

quick tip from an archer: if you're worried about letting the arrow go and damaging something (or someone) then simply hold it without "plugging" the end into the bow string. doesn't really make a difference in photo but if you happen to let go it will just fall down :)

oh, and try not to hold the arrow tip with your fingers at that stage of the draw - instead hold the arrow a bit more horizontal (just a bit) so that the arrow doesn't slip away.

to avoide the string hitting your forearm you should hold it a wee bit differently - make sure to "twist out" your elbow. the elbow tip shouldn't point downwards but to the outer side (if that makes sense)
all in all you're doing well as an archer, though, and I hope you don't mind my being a smartass here ;)
